Welcome to Prep

I am an historian

We have started our show and tell with Sage, Maya and Jonathan. Sage brought in her special present from her uncle. Maya showed us a beautiful cross given to her by her grandmother when she was born. Jonathan shared a special photo of his cousins which makes him happy every time he looks at it.

100 Days of Prep!

On Tuesday July 28th, Prep celebrated 100 days at school! We had a day full of activities on the number 100. We made hats with 100 dots, necklaces with 100 fruit loops, towers with 100 cups and 100 hearts of what we love about school.

We had a super fun day!

Max’s strategy for learning patterns in maths

Our classmate Max has come up with a great way of making patterns! This helps us to keep the right order when we make our own.

Bullying – No Way!

Take a Stand together! Bullying No Way!

The Preps prepared little plays on the effect of “active bystanders” when a child is using unfriendly or bullying behaviour. We visited some Gr. 1/2 classrooms, 3/4 and 5/6 classrooms and showed how active bystanders can support the child who is being bullied and change the behaviour of the child doing the “bullying”. We have lots of little stars in the making!

Language Experience Writing!

During our language experience reading session, our students  explored language through interaction with our leaf insects to help establish clear links between the real world and symbols of language.  The real world became very tactile and immediate as the insect was busy inspecting us. We couldn’t draw as he crawled all over the place!
